I have a bride and groom marrying in an Anglican church in 1667. Ten years later they are baptising (probably the wrong word!) in a Quaker Meeting House.

Are there likely to be records of their conversion? Where would I find them if they exist?

Thanks

You are right, no baptism ceremony for Quakers. They just recorded the births of children to members of their society.

The Society of Friends was only started in the 1650s and I don't know what records have survived from those very early days. In later years the records of people joining the Society (being 'received into Membership') were part of the local Monthly Meeting, but I don't know about in the 17thC.

Thanks, Merry. I was being very optimistic!
