Thank you so much Kite and Margaret, I have just come back on to my puter so will have a good look at what you have written before answering properly

Okay - yes, I do have the marriage cert for Nicholas and Mary, and her father is listed as John. His occupation is very hard to read - it looks like Mobster but that cannot be right!!! Their witnesses were Robert Hetherington and William *Mummery*?? again not easy to read. Robert certainly ties in with the censuses.

I will go and check out the census results that you found, and also the baptism for Mary. Margaret and Kite thank you...I have once again been guilty of narrowmindedness, and didn't find anything in the IGI because of putting in a single spelling
