Good Morning
1901 census in Northern Ireland
Patrick McGorry b 1836 head
Elizabeth McGorry b 1851 wife
Peter McGorry b 1877 son
ELIZABETH McGorry aged 16 born 1885
................
I think the daughter Elizabeth came to Toxteth Liverpool and married John Shannon in 1905

the census in Ireland was in
Straw - a tiny village - 24 miles from Belfast
Roman Catholic family
..............
their grandson aged 76 drinks in our local pub
is there any way we can find Patricks wife - Elizabeth maiden name
the population of Straw today is 57 - so a tiny village
the 76 year old in our pub - surname Shannon - is talking about going to Straw to see if family are still there - and wants to know Elizabeths maiden name to see if there are any of her family still there ?
....................
I found the 1901 census - but couldn't find a marriage
any help appreciated
thanks :)

This looks to be Elizabeth's birth registration - born 28 Jul 1886 at Ballinagown, father Patrick McGorry of Ballinagown, farmer, mother Elizabeth McGorry formerly Canavan:

Their marriage is 4 Dec 1869 at Cookstown: Patrick McGarry and Elizabeth Canovan. Sorry I can't do a link to it on this computer but when you have viewed the birth reg using the link in post #2, if you search using those names you should find it.
