View Full Version : Future indexing by Ancestry?

Looking for Surrey marriages, I've found a whole page, of which only the first two marriages have been indexed.

It's correctly indexed on Find My Past, but they are working from a much better image.

Family Search contains the entry - I was using their index in the 1980s as a guide into the records - but that obviously is only a transcript.

Does Ancestry go back and fill in the gaps, (this database as been available for several years: I remember as I attended the launch) or do they just leave them?

When you have the image open, click on the spanner icon (tools), then select Report Problems, then Problem with an image, Continue, then select Other as the Technical Concern and explain in the Comment box that it has not been fully indexed. Hopefully that will mean that they will do something about it, though it may take a while.

Something very strange is happening, as they appear to have unindexed some records. It is so frustrating, as Joe Public would assume that the record did not exist.
