What happened to William?

William Green and his sister Lucy were born Sept quarter 1899 registered at Chipping Sodbury.

Their deaths were registered the same quarter. Same page numbers for both for birth and death.

I've checked the GRO records and they are siblings, twins, MMN of Wigmore.

There is a baptism and burial for Lucy at the family church at Pucklechurch Gloucestershire, appearing in the Bristol parish registers on ancestry. There is a burial the next quarter for the grandmother, Harriet Green.

There is nothing for William. Why would this be?

If Lucy's age at death is correct then she was baptised (it says 'privately, since dec'd' alongside her baptism) at 9 days old. Presumably her brother died before this and, as he was unbaptised, may have been buried without a ceremony and therefore isn't listed in the burial register. Given the relatively recent date for these events, I do wonder if not writing it down was just a mistake?

Possibly it was a mistake. I just feel very sad he was forgotten, especially as there was an effort made to update her baptism entry.
