View Full Version : 1939 Register - Northern Ireland
Is there any access to it?
Also a 1921 census?

There was no 1921 census there. There is some information on here:
https://www.irish-genealogy-toolkit.com/1939-national-register.html
Thank you so much Kite.
That site is extremely useful but has dashed my hopes of a breakthrough using the 1921 or should I say 1926 census or the 1939 register.
I have the family on the 1901 and 1911 census but nothing since except for a birth in 1915. No marriages or deaths for any of them.
Can you still access the NI civil registration indexes - I remember doing it some years ago.
You can access the actual registers here:
https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/en/
They have (free) images for BMDs as follows:
Births: 1864 to 1919
Marriages: 1845 to 1944
Deaths: 1878* to 1969
*The General Register Office are currently working on updating further records of Deaths dating back to 1864.

This is the link to the GRONI site:

Thanks Merry and Kite
Both very useful sites.
I've managed to download images and births which is very impressive.
Unfortunately can't find out what happened to the family after 1915
