In answer to my TOGGG plea, Kite found the following:

http://www.swansea.gov.uk/index.cfm?articleid=29546

(the two entries which concern my tree are D/D SB 14/120/1, 2 and D/D SB 14/142/1, 2)

I know absolutely nothing about this sort of thing, so please can anyone advise on whether it would be worth obtaining copies of the documents in question? Would they be likely to give any further information that the catalogue description of them doesn't?

They are both assignments of the remaining term of leases, just as you'd get if you bought a leasehold property today. The summaries seem to mention all the main parties, but it's possible you might get other names popping up on the actual documents, for example as witnesses. But documents signed in solicitors' offices tend to be witnessed by employees. It depends how fascinating you find old documents.
