Has anyone got access to this and wiling to do a couple of look ups for me, please?
I have Nell happy to have a mooch for you :D
Thanks Peppie.
I am looking for Charles Mealing/Melins and his wife Mary Ann. They were living in Glamorgan, Wales in 1881 but by 1882 had moved to Illinois.
Would you be able to find their ship's passengers' listing to Illinois (I think they went from Liverpool) and also see if they appear on US census?
Charles was born Rendcomb(e), Gloucestershire 1838 and Mary Ann was born 1849 in Monmouthshire, Wales.
Many thanks.
Found them
Transcribed as Melino:D
Looks like he might have popped back to the uk at some point.
I have your email I think so will email the scans
OOOh, thank you so much Peppie! I'm very grateful.
They seemed to end up in Arkansas ??
They've been emailed! let me know if they don't get there:)
I've got them Sharon, thank you, but they are too small to read and when I magnify them they aren't clear enough!

Thanks Peppie, very interesting reading. I'm a bit confused about the children? I didn't think they'd had any, but it says 2 in 1900 and 8 in 1910.
It does and also says none of them are living.. wonder if she just lost them :(
Wouldnt know how to check Arkansas births and deaths...
I know they didn't have any in 1881 (though soem may have been born) but she was getting on a bit to be having children between 1900 and 1910 anyway.
Hm. Found a George Mealing born Bedwelty reg district (where Charles & Mary Ann married) in 1866 (same year as marriage) but he is on census 1871 with mother Maria.
Also found twins, Louis and Louisa Mealing born 1874 Bedwelty and a death ref for Louisa. No idea what happened to Louis.
