The only one I could find was this (on the Lancs OPC website):

Baptism: 20 Mar 1785 All Saints, Wigan, Lancashire, England
Matthew Danson - eight Son of Roger Danson & Betty (formerly Walsh)
Born: 14 Mar
Abode: Scoles
Occupation: Carpenter
Mother's Parents: James & Margt. Walsh
Register: Baptisms 1779 - 1799, Page 127
Source: Original register at Wigan Archives

Where does his year of birth come from?

The child whose baptism I found was buried aged 10.

Burial: 4 Jul 1796 All Saints, Wigan, Lancashire, England
Matthew Danson - Son of Roger Danson
Age: 10
Abode: Scoles
Occupation: Carpenter
Cause of Death: Weakness
Register: Burials 1779 - 1809, Page 246, Entry 9

If your man married in 1793 he might have been born before 1773.

Is he the one who was buried 6 Jun 1841 in Wigan, age 68, abode Scholes? If so then how do you know his birthplace, please?

There is a will of a Thomas Danson, for which the exectutors are Thomas and Matthew Danson, power reserved to John Danson, another executor:

Cheshire Wills And Probate

First name(s) Thomas
Last name Danson
Occupation Yeoman
Residence Wigan
Probate year 1818
County Cheshire

I don't have an image, but a Matthew Danser s/o Thomas and Margret is baptised 28 August 1774 in Wigan

We already found the baptism and some more information, so it would be best for you to read through the old thread, benrymnd.

More challenging, I suspect, is where the devil Thomas Danson died. His will was proved in January 1818, but I can't find a burial in Wigan
