my potential excitement.

My ancestry sub expired on the 8th so I've been looking at FMP, familysearch and google to see what I can achieve on a certain branch of OHs tree.

I wondered why I hadn't bothered to trace the line for what is OHs 6g grandmother and revisited the pedigree I'd found for her husband online to see if there were any hints and it listed her father!!

More googling and her mother's side seems to have been wealthy and leads back to a Ralph Hedworth. That seems solid but, of course, I have to prove it.

The exciting part is that Ralph's daughter, Ann, is the ancestor of Catherine Middleton!!

Again more work but it will be interesting to prove, or disprove.

I told my sister and her comment was she wont want to talk to you. :(

I know everyone here will appreciate the link to royalty (once proven) and also the thrill of the chase.

In case you do eventually prove it to yourself, Toni, perhaps you'd better be practicing the straight face you're going to use when you try to tell your story to the likes of us. Of course I'll want to believe you... :d Or not.

It could be a while. I found where to access Durham wills so have been playing with that.

I've made a start. I've proved the link that gets me to the online pedigrees. :p

However I also know the man was not always accurate so I may have started on the road for the against side.

Update - I am not keen on Durham. Their wills are wonderful, except when there is no link but the rest is very frustrating and precious few images, which I prefer over transcriptions.
