When William George Hawkins dies in 1929, he's as poor as a church mouse.
But three months later, his widow administers his estate and receives £130. She goes on to administer the estates of two deceased sons and receives a further £130. I have to assume that her surviving children share a further £130.
So there was £390 going begging.
This money must have come from her side of the family, since there was nothing to spare on her husband's.
Mary Jane Elizabeth Darling's paternal grandfather was Cosmo William Darling. He left £225 when he died in 1902

Where does Maria get her money from? The same place as her niece?
Any bright ideas as to how I find this out?
