Thomas Rayner m Mary Goldsmith 19 Jan 1768 Reepham, Norfolk
Children:
Edward b 1768 probably d Lyng in 1845
Ann b 1771 m Robert Fisher
Thomas b 1773
Margaret b 1776 d young
Matthew 1780 - 1868
Margaret b 1782 d young
Mary b 1791
So, I don't know what happened to Thomas junior or Mary junior.
Fairly sure that Thomas senior was the son of Edward and Anne, bp 22 April 1744 in Salle, while Mary was definitely daughter of Matthew Goldsmith and Martha bp 7 May 1749, Booton, as she is named in Matthew's will.
A Thomas Rayner is buried 17 Feb 1813, Salle, aged 71 and I seized on this as the best fit, although it might mean a probable date of birth in 1741.
No sight of the burial of Mary senior.
Now I have found a tree where someone attributes this Mary as Thomas senior's wife:
Mary aged 90, independent, living in Fulmodestone cum Croxton

Mary is buried aged 94, so of course I cannot check where she was born, and she leaves a will, which I cannot access at the moment.
But she was married to Thomas as there is this will:

In brief, Thomas of F cum C makes a will dated 1828, naming wife Mary, son Thomas and grandson John Rix Rayner.
Here is his burial in 1828, aged 81 (so born 1747):

John Rix Rayner is born and dies in Thornham, right up on the coast near Hunstanton.

His father survived him, but of course died pre 1851:

Thomas Rayner bur Sep 1847 aged 74, so born 1773.
I would have preferred the will of Thomas to name more children, but there was no reason why he should
So... are these two families, both with Thomas married Mary, son Thomas, or are they one and the same and the Thomas buried 1813 just a red herring?
