WDYTYA magazine announced that the Church of England has plans to map all burial grounds within 5 years.

There are 2 churches already done and looking at it there will be grave photos, if there is a headstone, and burial register images if not. Not sure if you get the register image if you get a headstone as I've only just started looking.

This will be awesome once it is complete.

Thanks, I've just found my 2x great grandfather's brother, Blakey Hartley Abbott at Shelley, gravestone pic and transcript of the register (I already had the burial as it's on Ancestry). One pic shows the position in the graveyard and the other is a closeup.

That's wonderful, Jill.

I hope they stick with Yorkshire as that is one of the main counties my ancestors lived in.
