View Full Version : Is it possible to find a birth record in Scotland for 1954?

I've looked on Scotland's People, not that I'm familiar with Scottish research.
It seems to me that any birth within 100 years in private.

If it's possible please PM me

Yes, you can find the birth registration but you cannot download the certificate, you have to send away for it. I suspect but don't know, that you would need the exact date of birth for that.

You can search on Scotland's People and it will show you the index entry and then there is a button to click to order a certificate.

They are more expensive than English ones though - think they cost £14-£15 years ago.

If you or someone else visits Scotlandspeople you can transcribe the details onto a blank sheet (20p I think) unless you take your own.

Unfortunately not going in the foreseeable future so can't help at the minute.
