I have a problem family and the lastest curve ball has me totally confused.

Is there any way possible to have a child born (birth registered) in the second quarter and then 2 more born and died on the 27th July 1889 (so third quarter)?

I wouldn't have considered it except that there is only one family with that surname that lived on the street all 3 children lived on on both the 1881 and 1891 census.

I do know it is possible that a different family could have moved in, had twins die and left between the census.

Sorry, I'm confused! How can they all be on census if two were born and died the same day?

The ones that died weren't on the census. Only one family with the surname was on the census in both years. The child that lived and her family was on the 1891, her parents and some other siblings were also on the 1881.

Have you checked the mmn for all three children?

No. Good idea.

Very good idea. Definitely 2 different families.

I didn't really think it was possible but this family is very hard to get on with so triplets and medical miracles didn't seem impossible, nor did registering births late just to annoy.

Unless the surname is Smith, it's worth looking at the parents, in case they are connected.

Having said that, a friend with my surname discovered there were another three unrelated families in his street, with our surname.

The surname is Clark/e. Not quite Smith but close.

That said they may turn up as I follow other lines so I'll wait and see.
