I am a bit stuck with the Sheards all who married at Ormskirk, Lancs and am not sure if I am just being muddled headed or what!!
I used to find that Lancashire records were great to find, but these are not obliging.
In 1876 I presume that the sisters had a double wedding, Emma Sheard married Halbert Shennan Ferguson and Ada Rebecca Sheard married William Bennett. (Halbert was baptised in a Wesleyan chapel, so not sure if they were married Non-Com.)
In 1879 Caroline Ruth Sheard married William Watson and I cannot find it either.;(
Then in 1895 James Frederic Sheard married Edith Alice Sandbach.:(
Then I have one who married according to the 1901 Census but not sure where. Herbert William Sheard, somewhere between the 1881 census and 1896, married Delgracia from USA. He died in 1916 and she applied for a passport in her married name and said was born 22 June 1860 in Ottawa, Illinois, USA. Some people said her actual name was Grace Strawn .. Not sure what name she would have used for their marriage..
Help would be greatly appreciated. Julie
