Daniel married Ann Williams 22nd November 1658 at All Saints, Northampton

I think both FMP and Ancestry have mistranscribed his surname.

He was from London.

Pellcome?

Thanks, Sue. That confirms my thought.

FMP and Ancestry transcribed it as Dellcome.

I have been searching for Daniel Pelcome and at first found nothing, but then FMP have him in the City of London Haberdashers, Apprentices and Freemans lists. He was a Haberdasher. I couldn't find a will on Ancestry or anything at the National Archives but there is his administration on FMP. It is a PCC administration naming his wife Ann.

I haven't yet found any children for them. I suspect there were some. There is a will for a Daniel Pelcome in 1704 and I wonder if he is a son?

Will of Daniel Pelcome, Gentleman of Palace of Lambeth , Surrey

Reference: PROB 11/485/151
Description: Will of Daniel Pelcome, Gentleman of Palace of Lambeth , Surrey
Date: 21 November 1705
Held by: The National Archives, Kew
Legal status: Public Record(s)
Closure status: Open Document, Open Description

There's Freedom of the City Records on Ancestry that gives the father's name as Daniel Pelcome. For some reason my PC won't let me paste the link (??)
But I just searched for Daniel Pelcome. The son's name has been mistranscribed but there's a correction - worth contacting the member?

Ancestry really isn't working properly. Every time I search I get something different. Sometimes no results.

This burial must be one of his sons:
Roger Pelcome son of Daniel buried 12th October 1673

Ann's father was Roger Williams.

Thanks, Sue. I'll keep searching Ancestry until it comes up!

The possible sons name is transcribed as Peter Petroins. Looking at the will you found he names a brother Peter.

I had to reboot my pc to make it paste! Above is a possible burial for Daniel in 1693. Written as Pelcomb.

Re. Prudence Pelcome

She married Thomas Mills of Henfield, Sussex by licence. It says they were married by the Bishop of Chichester! If my theory is correct - namely, that Roger and Martha Williams of Northampton were John Williams' parents and that Ann Williams who married Daniel Pelcome was John's sister - then Prudence would be John Williams', Bishop of Chichester's, niece.

How close am I to proving my theory is correct? How much more evidence do I require?
