This man died in Northampton in 1685 and was buried at All Saints church on 6th December.

In 1680 he was mayor of Northampton.

He married Katherine Williams in 1659. I am hoping she is the daughter of Roger Williams. There is a baptism on 7th September 1633 at All Saints, Northampton to Roger and Martha Williams.

I am hoping also that Katherine was the sister of the Reverend John Williams, later Bishop of Chichester.

I have looked for a will for Bartholomew Manning, but to no avail. If anyone finds a will or any more about him please let me know. I so much want to claim Roger and Martha Williams as John Williams's parents. He was reputedly born c. 1636 in Northamptonshire. His last child was a Roger.

I should add that Roger and Martha Williams had a son John baptised on 20th August 1637 at All Saints, Northampton.

I haven't been able to find a will for Roger Williams. He was a pinmaker.

There seems to be a Chancery case on TNA mentioning Bartholomew and his widow, Katherine but I don't pretend to understand Chancery Courts at all so not sure if it helps!

Thanks, Sue. I wonder what relation the Hunts were to the Mannings?

Odd, I have found his will on Ancestry but when I first searched it didn't give any results!

Probably because ancestry isn't working properly at the moment. But anyway, if I'm looking for a PCC will I usually search TNA's catalogue first so I know what I should find on ancestry as the TNA indexing is more accurate.
