Maybe not the best time for them to launch it as there are currently a few problems with searching on ancestry, but there is a browse facility you can try if you can't find the person you're looking for by searching.

These files are fascinating; a bit different from the Australian ones.

They show the men's exact measurements when they were measured for their uniforms!

And it has extracts from the Gazette showing promotions etc included in the records.

They are a bit variable, one of my grandfathers, it just has the first page of his records, there is a lot more in the actual records that I have from the archives, the other grandfather, it seems pretty complete.

One of my great uncles records appear have his cousins record attached, but the cousin also appears when you search, so at least his have not been missed.

These are great. I've found a distant ancestor who's knocked 4 years off his age :)
