Unlike most of the electoral registers on FMP which have been indexed using OCR and don't distinguish between people's names and addresses, so can be time-consuming to search, their 1920 Electoral Registers database has been indexed separately and can be searched by "name, year, constituency, polling district and keyword." (Not sure what the point would be of searching by year!)

As they say it was "created from out [sic] exclusive collection of England & Wales electoral records", I guess it is not complete. But at least if you do find the person you're looking for, it is a lot quicker than searching their main electoral roll database.

I've spent quite some time searching on it today. Lovely to get addresses for family and see if they have moved house between the 1911 census and 1939 register.

The first one I looked at was mistranscribed:

It should be Hammersmith and not Hastings!

It doesn't have Staffordshire at all

Some of the transcriptions are absolute rubbish.

A totally random one:

The man in question is actually Thomas Thirlwall Armstrong.

This has now been extended to cover 1920-1932.

If you enter their transcription spelling (of the surname only) into the main search it says there are no matches for it!

This has now been extended to cover 1920-1932.

The description of the record set says

This is an ongoing project. The record set currently holds records for 1920, 1926-1931, and a smaller number of records for 1932.

Could it be that they have corrected it since it was posted on here?

I don't know where to look for a correction on FMP :o

The entry still doesn't appear if I search for the correct spelling.

I don't know how to find corrections on FMP either, Merry. I wish they would expand the database to cover all parts of the country though.

They have just added a lot more records. They say:

A further 54 million newly indexed records spanning the years 1921 to 1925 have just been added to our collection of newly indexed England & Wales, Electoral Registers 1920-1932. These new additions mean that the collection now contains a complete run of all surviving records for all parliamentary boroughs from A to L (the first being the PB of Accrington and the last being the PC of Nottinghamshire, Rushcliffe Division).
