If someone died in the last 10 years is there any way to find out?

I've tried the civil registration index but it only goes to 2007. I can't find anything on the probate website but that could just mean she didn't leave a will.

I have an address for where she was at some point between 2005 and 2010 but I don't know when.

My Dad is going to ring that address tonight but I'd rather not ring if she has died.

It's unlikely she is alive and less likely she is capable of having contact with us but I want to try, if possible. I'd love to send her the photo I just worked out was her.

FMP has electoral rolls up to 2014 but you can't search by address, only by name and town/city. Ancestry has some up to 2010 which are searchable by any word they have transcribed, so you can search by the street name and number and town/city etc.

Ancestry does have the Death Index 2007-2015.

Yes, but it isn't the complete GRO death index, Glen; it's compiled from sources such as funeral directors, insurance companies, etc.

Yes I'd forgotten that but I guess I've just been lucky as the 3 people I've looked for were all there.

Thanks for the answers.

I think I tried the death index on ancestry without success but I'll try again to be sure.

I'll check out FMP. I now know the lady I am searching for has died (I'd been hoping she hadn't) but I don't know when.
