View Full Version : Irish certs.
Does anyone know if an Irish death cert from either 1866 or 1915 would have names of the person's children?
I want to buy a couple but if they don't have childrens' names, I still won't know if they are the right ones.
This link may answer some of your questions. It shows a few specimen death certs from different dates as well. I have the impression that children are not listed, but one may well be the informant, in which case there is some limited info recorded.

Thanks Bev. Looks like that's a no. Lots they could learn from us. I'm thinking my great grandmother is going to remain parentless forever.

Nil desperandum. The answer is out there somewhere. I still have hopes of my gt grandmother Bridget Ryan, who married Patrick Ryan in Tipperary. I learned from her (Australian) death cert that she was the daughter of Michael Ryan, I just need to sift through all the Ryans in Tipperary:d
I'm a bit closer re gt grandfather Patrick's parents, who were, according to his (Australian) death cert, Matthew Ryan and Ellen O'Shaughnessy from Tipperary. Same conditions apply, as above.;(
Don't think so Libby.
It's not like Victoria, Australia where they named the children.

I think all of Australia names the children (dead and alive).
Not sure what I could learn from buying those certs, so might leave it.
