Since I got my Masters in Procrastination I have excelled in putting things off till tomorrow what I should have done yesterday.

The time has come to admit that I no longer have the energy to do all those things I intended to do so my New Year's Resolution is to employ an expert to look into the most pressing thing for me. That is check my dad's military service 1912 -1919. The last time I tried, about 20 years ago' he was amongst the "burnt records" and I got nowhere but I know things have changed since then

Can any one refer me to an expert in military records ?

Len, if his record has survived then it should be on ancestry now, so if you post up his name etc (or PM it to me if you would rather) then we can help you look on there.

On the other hand, if his record was missing or destroyed you won't find it now.

I am willing to try for you Len. If he served before WW1 his records might be at Kew in a section called WO97. These are not on Ancestry as far as i know.
