Southwark Local Studies has registers covered with annotations for 1918 - it would be interesting to compare the two.

Wow, I have just found my grandad and his brother. This might help to pinpoint which compnay he was in. I hope these records are free over the weekend. :)

Does it show you their ranks, service numbers and "regiments" on the free index, Lynn? I don't know whether the images will be free at the weekend, but if so, the only extra information you should get from the images is the actual address where they were living.

Weren't the electoral rolls suspended in WW2? Only years 1939 and 1945 were produced.

I was able to view the record, only to discover that I already had the information it shows, from the electoral rolls
