I note that some records are browsable but unindexed. Winterbourne Earls being the example I found, but I'm sure there are others.

Thank you! A visit to the library is definitely called for! I have an FMP subscription but they only have transcriptions and I'd much rather look/browse the originals.

They've now added Bishops Transcripts to the collections. Still awaiting the appearance of the Archdeaconry of Sarum Wills though as per the WSHC website.

So would I, Phoenix! I might be able to make progress with my Alexander family.

They are supposed to be uploading all the Archdeaconry of Sarum Wills and Admons so should include those for people in Berkshire too.

Edit - see under Wiltshire Wills Project half way down page - http://www.wshc.eu/our-services/archives.html.

Last time I looked at the wills, they were still in Trowbridge.
Some of the courts cover Dorset as well.

Whether someone left a Will or Administration now held at Chippenham can be checked here - https://history.wiltshire.gov.uk/heritage/.

I'm looking forward to seeing Wiltshire wills on Ancestry. I might not have many likely candidates for wills, but you never know!

I've had a proper look at my tree and my direct something great grandparents married in Woodborough. Those regsisters are online, except for marriages about 50 years either side of their wedding. I've seen the banns, I'd just like to see if there are any witnesses.
