John and Jennifer Stanbury baptised several children (all at Stoke Damerel, Devon, except William who was bap at Charles the Martyr, Plymouth):

Mary Ann 31 December 1787
Nicholas 31 December 1789
William 11 Jan 1792
Philip 23 Jan 1794
Jennifer 27 Nov 1796
There's also a bap at Stoke Damerel, Richard son of parents Richard and Jennifer Stanbury 24 Aug 1783, which I think should be John and Jennifer (no marriage / other children found for Richard/Jennifer).
John also mentions a son John in his Will, whose bap is missing.

Can anyone spot a marriage for John and Jennifer?

Also, does anyone know if Devon marriage licence are available anywhere?

What was John's occupation?

There is a marriage between a John Stanbury and a Jane Wall at Stoke Damerel in 1780. John is given as a "Taylor".

With my Cornish ancestors, Jane and Jennifer seemed interchangeable.

Although it won't help with the Stanburys as they married by banns (if the John / Jane marriage is the right one).

That's interesting, John was a tailor so definitely possible. And I came across John Wall Stanbury somewhere else so he'd fit too.

Wonderful! Thank you. :)

Thanks. A lot of other marriages in this family were by licence, so you never, know, there might be another nugget in there somewhere.

...and if Jennifer and Jane are interchangeable, she could be the Jane Stanbury buried in Stoke Damerel in 1816.

It would explain why I couldn't find a burial for Jennifer.
