What Happened to Eliza?

Eliza Pope (born 6th Aug 1872) married Alfred Ernest Keen in Sheffield 1893. They had 4 children of which 2 survived; Daisy May Keen born 1893 & Ernest Keen born 1895. The family are together on the 1911 Census at 8 Addison Road, Sheffield.

But after this, I don't know what happened to Eliza. Daisy May married William J Edmonds in the district of Blean, Kent and are together on the 1939 register in Newport, Wales. Ernest married in Newport and is also there on the 1939 Register. Alfred Ernest Keen is on his own on the 1939 Register, also in Newport but is listed as being married.

Alfred Ernest was born in Herne, Kent so I wondered if maybe the family or just father and two kids went to live there and that's why Daisy married there. Alfred died in Newport in 1953 and his probate was to his two children, again no reference to Eliza.

I guess its likely they parted but now I cannot find any trace of Eliza under Keen, Pope or another surname. If anyone can find anything, its much appreciated :)

There's an Eliza Keen death Jan-Mar 1948 Hackney age 76. And one Oct-Dec 1953 Caerleon age 81.

The 1948 Hackney one could be the one listed on Deceased Online as being buried 9 Jan 1948 at Islington Cemetery.

They both look good potentials. Had to Google Caerleon and that seems to be on the outskirts of Newport which is interesting. But I can't find her on the 1939 Reg.

That's great Merry. That probably is going to be her. Sad to see she's in a mental hospital. That's quite a few members of my family who ended up in one now.
