What happened to her? I am confined to a kindle and it's like peering through a keyhole.

Born Caroline McCloud in 1846, she marries Charles Egner / EGNAR in 1865. She is last seen in 1881 at her parents home in Eaton St, Liverpool with two of her children, George EGNAR 13 and Henry EGNAR, 10. I cannot find any of them forward, no deaths or marriages but I'm not sure my kindle is responding to my commands.

Thanks in advance!

On the burial record, written above her name, it says :

"Coroners order
Relieving officers order".

I can't find anything in the papers.

Do you have Ancestry? I can't face transcribing! Is this them, about half way down, in 1891?

No, that was wrong - incorrect mmn for those two daughters.

No, I don't have Ancestry but if you give me a clue I can probably manipulate family search!

In 1901 the son Henry is living in Derby with his wife Elizabeth and his children Henry, George, Elizabeth, Charles and Phillip.

He was a sausage skin maker.

Don't worry, it wasn't the right family!

Henry's wife was Elizabeth Stanley and they married in 1870.

In 1911 Henry and family are in Nottingham.
They now have 8 children.
The extra three are Caroline, Florence and Lily.

Henry is now a skin dresser in a tannery.

Henry died in Nottingham in 1947.

Ah, thankyou Elizabeth. That seems right as the Egners were butchers etc.

I've just found an old posting on ancestry. Everyone agrees George vanished although some have him going to Belfast, which would fit neatly with the McCloud side. No one has picked up Caroline s death in prison though! I do wonder what she did.

And you should be able to find various records relating to George and his family on the free Irish Civil Registration site:

Thankyou Kate. I've never done any Irish research so I was floundering on that.
