Lyons Inn records

In the 1660s, James Smyth is described as "of Lyons Inn" when his mother died.

Wikipedia is rather harsh on Lyons Inn. It clearly fell into disrepute in later years.

Do any records survive? Can anyone see anything I have not spotted?
