An inscription written on the last page of my grandfather's bible. Absolutely no idea what it says... is it even in English? I'm hoping some of you terrible handwriting experts can help me.

Thank you very much. :D

The third line looks like "ability to save souls".

And the first line is "Love & mercy". I imagine it is some notes on something in or related to the Bible.

Is the second line 'lost humanity'?

Is the first word of the last line - succour?

Aiff is welsh for "go" .........

I wonder if it's a quotation from something.

I wonder if it's a quotation from something.

I thought that, but no amount of googling brought anything up

Heal humanity.

Full sanctity.

Sounds like the requirements for beatitude or sainthood.

Ooh, is the last line

Succour, a life temp (temporal)

where a life has been written as one word?

What an odd thing to write. I wonder who wrote it, and why.

Many thanks to you all for your kind efforts.

So...

love & mercy
heal humanity
ability to save souls
full sanctity
succour, a life temporal

?

(It is quite beautiful... just unexpected, and I wish I knew its origin/relevance)

Durh durh durh!

Just spotted the map heading!

I would imagine it's just jottings, thoughts provoked by the map. A slide show perhaps or some kind of religious instruction.

Did anyone in the family study theology or train for the priesthood?
