Maritius to Australia

I wondered if in 1867, people who immigrated from Mauritius to Melbourne - whether the people were born in Mauritius or who had landed there from England or Ireland etc.

If so, is there any way I can search for a birth in Mauritius?

I typed Mauritius into the Location box on fmp and got results for the time frame you mention in these databases:

British nationals armed forces marriages 1796-2005
British nationals born overseas 1818-2005
Irish Births 1864-1958 Overseas

Presumably you have checked they didn't originate in the UK?

I was able to locate a burial record for my 3G aunt at Port Louis in 1823 through this web site:

But it helps to understand some French.
