Most of it is about the new GRO online index. Some of the interesting points were: it is unlikely to be extended to include marriages, because it is based on what had already been digitised and indexed for the cancelled DOVE project; births where the parents were not married are only indexed under one surname, with a dash for mother's maiden name, even when they are indexed under both surnames in the published GRO index (the one on FreeBMD etc).
The other thing I remember from it is that both Findmypast and ancestry are offering free access to military records this weekend in honour of Remembrance Day.
