I have this lady in 1871:

Ann Wife Mar 43 Cornwall Ladock
Charles Son Un 20 Ag. Lab. Cornwall Ladock

I'm not sure if she is Joseph's aunt or Ann's aunt.

Can anyone find any more about her?

Do you have Ann's maiden name?

No, Merry, but possibly Seccombe or Rowe.

Ah, yes, I just found the marriage to Ann Rowe in Q4 1849!

Not that it makes any difference, but she is 59 on the 1871 census, not 58.

On the 1861 census, the next household after the Seccombe family are John and Anne Rowe, aged 59 and 61 respectively - Ann's parents, maybe? But both born Cornwall.

Possibly, Kate. This is a query I have received about the Seccombe family. I have now replied, so please don't spend any more time at present on this.

And in 1851, John and Anne Rowe have a Grace Cox lodging with them, a widow age 77, born Cornwall St Stephens. So it looks as though the Cox / Cocks connection is with the Rowe family.

I answered the wrong question! I am trying to cook and look at this and was thinking of Abigail Cocks!!

It's tied up nicely:

John Rowe married Ann Cock at St Enoder on 14 May 1822.

Ann Rowe baptised 18 Aug 1824 at St Enoder.

Caroline bapt. 27 Oct 1822 at St Enoder. (On 1851 Census with parents)

Lots of other baptisms plus Charlotte at Ladock (on 1851 Census).

Thanks, Merry and Kate. I think I shall leave it there for now.
