I'm trying to find out more about this lady, Katharine MacAndrew, born c 1862 in Chile

In 1911 she is living in Selborne, Hampshire http://interactive.ancestry.co.uk/2352/rg14_06218_0121_03/43081362?backurl=http://person.ancestry.co.uk/tree/45875/person/-2138519549/facts

My grandmother was Dorothy Scrutton, who was the between-maid in Katharine's household and I remember my grandmother talking about "Miss MacAndrew". Dorothy's sister, Nora, was also in service there.

I think I've found Katharine living in Great Horkesley in 1871 as Katharine Masandlers and in 1891 transcribed as Katherine Stow, but I can't get the Ancestry links to work! Sorry.

Also I think I've found her death and will in 1941, but I can't find her in any other census.

Can anyone help please

Many thanks

She appears on several public trees on ancestry but I don't think any of them have found her in 1881 either.

Thank you again, Kite

That's great :) :) :)

I've also just found this about Westwood House where the family lived.

"Westwood House, the seat of William Macandrew esq. J.P. is a noble mansion in the Tudor style, standing in a park of 72 acres: the gardens and pleasure grounds cover 11 acres. The mortgagees of the late Thomas Bourdillon esq. who are lords of the manor, William Nocton esq. of Langham Hall, and William Macandrew esq. are the principal landowners. The soil is loam; subsoil, clay. The chief crops are wheat, barley, beans and turnips. The area is 1,023 acres; rateable value, £996; the population in 1901 was 161." on the Forebears site
