Leah died in 1914. Alfred remarried, the family moved to Devon at some stage in the 1920s, where Alfred died c 1926.

Marjorie is in service in Devon. Their step mother is also in Devon, but where is Winifred, the eldest, born in 1906?

A Winifred Beckett aged 57 died in Exeter in 1962. Maybe her? I can't see her in the probate calendar.

So she died Jul 1997 in Ipswich, dob 20 Jul 1906.

I don't usually join in these things as I'm about as much use as a chocolate teapot, but

presumably this is the same lady described as the beloved maternal grandmother of

<name removed> (Google search of name) And she didn't marry till she was 50 ?????

That's how I found her, Vita, by googling, being nosy about him, and working backwards. I find it scary how much we inadvertently give away about ourselves. (Though I do rather like his painting)

Her sister's address is in Mum's address book, but I knew nothing about Winifred.

I've removed the grandchild's name from your post, Vita, as it is likely s/he is still alive - or did you find a death?
