I note that the 1807 marriage bond says Elizabeth Smith was a widow, but the marriage PR entry says she was a spinster!

The very first page of the navy records I looked at gives Ezra's date of death as 28 June 1823, so as you hadn't posted that here I was just wondering if you had viewed the images?

I can't get the image for this (below) to download or view in any way, but from this transcription his age might be a little more than 72 in 1823 would suggest and might Linster be Leicester(shire)??

Birth parish Linster
Age at pension 32
Year appointed or Pension granted 1777
Series ADM 73

The one I transcribed from was definitely
Series/Piece ADM 73/53

The one with his date of death was either:

Series/Piece ADM 73/36 part 2 or
Series/Piece ADM 73/53

(I looked at the first page of both of those two, but don't remember which one had the date now.) This laptop absolutely hates fmp so I've only looked at those pages and don't have time now to wait for any of them to re-open. There were several otherpieces and pages within pieces I didn't look at at all.

The burial in 1823 had his first name mis-transcribed

The bap for his first child had the surname mis-transcribed.
