Years ago I had a thread about which son of Thomas and Mary Blackmore was my great great grandfather. They had a son called Henry and a son called John.

My 2g grandfather arrived in Australia as John and died as Henry John.

Henry was born in 1846 and John in 1858.

The consensus was that my 2 g grandfather was probably John.

I've found a burial for a Henry in the Somerset parish records that fits with Henry's age. I just need to see if I can prove he is my Henry.

He was buried 5 November 1865 in Combe Florey, aged 20 years.

Can anyone find anything about this man? A death certificate wont tell me his parents will it?

No, the death cert won't give his parents' names unless one of them is down as the informant.

But isn't this your Henry in 1871?

I don't know Kate. I've seen that before.

The reason why I'm wondering about this death is that Henry's parents, Thomas and Mary are living in Combe Florey between 1861-1871.
