What a helpful vicar - going above and beyond what was required after 1812. Child's position in family, father's occupation, marital status, married woman's maiden name...

I'm greedier than that - If only all vicars were like the Rev William Borrows!

I'm finding the amount of information on the German church records amazing compared to UK records. You often get an exact date of birth (or age in years, months and days) on a burial record, and sometimes the baptism records have a date of death or burial added. Also, baptism records usually give mother's maiden name, and details of godparents, and marriage and burial records often give parents' names and residence plus father's occupation. The burial records often give cause of death.

That vicar clearly had more sense than many others. I wish I had vicars like that where my lot lived.

I only noticed the records because of the unusual name that popped up on the Ancestry transcription 'Third daughter of John Arnold and Elizabeth late Holmes Arnold'.:d:d

I'm still hoping to find someone on my tree who lived in a parish covered by Dade registers, but my Yorkshire lot just won't co-operate.
