Though the German version of the database title says it goes up to 1939!

(Only) 13.5 million records. Regions included are Bayern (Bavaria), Brandenburg and Westfalen, but it doesn't seem to include any of the Bavarian places that I am interested in, so I guess coverage is patchy at the moment.
