I've searched till I'm blue in the face for this family, Addison/Adison, but getting nowhere.

They "should" be around Hawkshead in Lancs (now Cumbria). I say 'should' as the rest of the families went all over the place and money was no object.

I think I've eliminated the obvious search places, even got a copy the PRs of Hawkshead, etc.

Does anyone know of a good family history society I might be able to join for some help. I'm in Australia so thought I might be better joining a group as I can't get there to search around.
I'm looking early 1700s/ late 1600s.

Thanks.

I suppose it would be Cumbria FHS but I don't have any personal knowledge of whether it is good.

Genuki mentions the Lancashire Parish Register Society.

You have to scroll down.

However, I have looked at the link at Hawkshead registers don't seem to be covered.
