William is born c 1847 in Thursford, Norfolk.

He and wife Harriet vanish - I assume to Australia - because I find this detail of letters of admin on Trove:

William Jarvis, North Rockhampton*
lorryman-to Harriet Jarvis. Death oc-
curred 18th January.(1903) Realty and personal-
ty, £92.

So, where is Rockhampton? Are there any online indexes I can search?

Okay, that might not be the right Harriet....

Rockhampton is in Queensland.

The online Queensland BDM index shows that the parents of the only listed William Jarvis who died in 1903 were Thomas Jarvis and Alice Beesworth, if that's any help.

FamilySearch has Thomas Jarvis marrying Alice Beesworth 18 Sep 1853 at Cottingham, Northamptonshire. On the 1861 census this couple (still at Cottingham) has a son William age 5. He married a Harriet Fisher 23 Oct 1882 at Titchmarsh, Northants, so that must be the William whose letters of adminstration you found, Phoenix.

Thank you both for chasing the red herring.

I have established what happened to his thirteen brothers and sisters. William is a mystery, though I have a nagging feeling that he is remembered on a tombstone in Brinton churchyard.
