I have James and Catherine Lea living in Sandbach in 1841:

James is dead by 1851:

Catherine was born in Staffordshire.

Can anyone find their marriage - before 1826? Catherine's age is mistranscribed in 1851. It should be 51 not 57.

It's five miles from Sandbach!

Red Street seems to be in Wolstanton parish in Staffs, but I'm not turning up any baptism for Catherine.

Ooh, thanks Merry! It's in the Congleton district, so OK.

I have been using FMP etc but no marriage popped up.

Hmm, if it is the correct couple they were cutting it fine. Their son James was born on 14th August 1826!

If I don't reply promptly I'm not ignoring you! Daughter is being discharged from hospital and baby being transferred by ambulance to Reading hospital. I'm heading off there for a few days to look after the new parents!

These are our new granddaughter's 5x-great-grandparents.

Their burials with images are on FMP.

Only two baps in Wolstanton for a Catherine around the right date:

Catherina SALT Baptism 29 Sep 1799

Catharine ROBINSON Baptism 27 Dec 1801

Not helping! lol

There's a widow Lucy Stonier b abt 1790, living in Sandbach and born at Red Street in 1851, but she hasn't helped either! OH was James in 1841, maiden name could be Baskerville (marriage on Ancestry), but nothing ties together.

I'm not sure whether you have already looked at the image of the marriage record on FMP?

Not much help but it does confirm that Catherine was a spinster. One of the witnesses is a Joseph Gibson and the other one is a serial witness.

Thanks for looking, Merry. I shall have to put this on the back burner for a few days, I think.
