Albert Edward Mortlock (known as Ted) born 9 Aug 1907. His wife Alice is at 70 Waterloo St, Burton but no sign of him.

Could he have been in the forces at that date, Marg? If so then he wouldn't be included.

I found this but don't know whether it's him, and anyway, doesn't show whether he was serving in 1939:
