I would love to know why my great grandmother moved from her birth place, Hayle/Phillack, Cornwall to Briton Ferry, near Neath, Glamorgan and then why her and her husband, Rees Morgan moved to the Middlesbrough area.

The other mystery is that my mum always thought that her grandmother was call Elizabeth Ann Vigors.

Sorry just realise I've put this in the wrong place, can one of the mods move it for me please.

Have you investigated another marriage?

Elizabeth Ann Vigors appears on the 1871 census

RG10; Piece: 5427; Folio: 32; Page: 12

She is in Briton Ferry and was born in Hayle Cornwall in 1856 (too many coincidences I reckon for it not to be the same person)

She is the sister in law of the family
PM me if you don't have Ancestry.

Scrub that

You have that!!

I couldn't find another marriage, but she did have family called Vigors. She was with them in 1871, and her name was given as Vigors, but I'm 99% sure it was the same person. Maybe she was brought up for a while by the Vigors family and maybe that's why she moved from Cornwall?

My grandmothers birth certificate gives her parents as Rees Morgan and Elizabeth Ann Seymour.

I would think she moved to Briton Ferry to live with her sister. Did their parents die?

I'm assuming Catherine Vigors is her sister?

Did Elizabeth's husband moved to the north east for work?

Catherine was her sister, but her their parents didn't die until 1880 and 1894.

Maybe they did move because of her husbands job. He worked in the steelworks.

Maybe she moved to her sister's home to help look after her sister's children?

Maybe she did Merry. I get so frustrated though, because I want to know these things....lol.... and will probably never find out for certain:(
