I am transcribing baptisms for 1696. One entry has the date of baptism as Candelmas Day.
Candelmas Day seems to be 2nd February.
My question is would that have been the case in 1696?
There are baptisms for February 11th and 16th preceding it and February 18th after it. There are occasional entries that are not in sequence but I need to check the exact date for Candelmas for 1696.
Any help greatly appreciated!
