Would an 1886 death have to be suspicious to warrant an inquest?

D/cert shows g/grandfather d in hospital with inquest held 3 days later.

Cause:- sudden effusion of blood on the brain.

Thanks Merry - I must have missed that one. The sites I saw said Victorians tended to

go for an inquest if there was the least whiff of a suspicious circumstance.
