The website was started by someone who's project is to put as many Scottish family trees onto one site

A good find. I think I'll be able to contribute to that with two of my branches.

Oh dear. Who will decide that a tree has a direct and PROVEN link back to Scotland? What does a direct link mean? All Scottish? Some Scottish? One person Scottish?

I can't see any advantage over any other tree hosting site but perhaps I am missing something.

Haha, yeah. There's also the fact that a huge number of Scottish families will originate in Ireland.
