I'm so glad they released it before my sub runs out.

There doesn't seem to be much of 1932 included.

Thanks Kate.

Managed to find a few but getting lots of error messages now so will wait till the initial rush has died down.

Voting used to be for those who owned property. When did everyone get to vote?

Scroll down that search page to "Who could vote and when" and it gives you the dates of each change to the franchise.

Thank you. Trying to work out if I should be able to find OH's elusive Thompson or not.

Also, it's worth reading their "Search tips" for information about how best to search. Though even after reading that, I'm not sure whether there is a quick way to do an address search.

I have to say I'm finding it hard work searching for people if I don't already know exactly where they were living, especially as you have to click to view the PDF each time and wait for it to load to see the names on the page and find out whether any of them matches the name you searched for.

FMP have said on Facebook that more records will be added in the future.

Nothing for Wales except Glamorgan.

And Suffolk doesn't go up to 1932.

In some ways I wish they would just release the whole record set rather than in stages. Then you know that people should be in there somewhere and you are playing hide and seek. it also saves time trying to work out what is the old release and what is the new release.

The search doesn't work properly - how annoying!

I've been looking for people with the surname Pool in a particular town, but whether I enter a Christian name or leave it blank I'm just getting people with completely different surnames living in Pool Road.

I expect I shall find some Pools eventually, but it's going to take hours at this rate.

And the next surname I'm going to be looking for is North, which is sure to be even worse

Yes, it's because they indexed it using OCR software, but they didn't program it to try to identify names and addresses like ancestry did with the London Electoral Registers, just to index all the words like they (FMP) did with the National Probate Calendar. I suppose it does avoid some of the problems of ancestry's way of doing it, but it introduces problems of its own, especially since you have to load each image to see what is on it, and since there isn't a full browse feature, or at least, not that I've found.

Do we know when they're likely to complete these records?

I was hoping to find Kidderminster, but the only borough in Worcs that turns up when I browse is Dudley.

In this week's Findmypast Fridays, they have announced that "Over 116 million names have been added" to this database!
