My direct ancester is Elizabeth Raby

Elizabeth Raby

There are a few other births to an Edward and Elizabeth (including some baptisms around 1797) but I have two Edward/Elizabeth marriages in Wragby :'( Is there any way to sort out who belongs to who?

The PR image for the 1761 marriage entry doesn't give their marital statuses as far as I can see, and they married by banns, so it hasn't come from a marriage licence.

But the Edward in the 1755 marriage has a lovely signature while the 1761 Edward made his mark, so they do look to be different people:

Interesting as the marriage cert I got today is signed by all the Raby family but the Espin just made their mark

FamilySearch has Elizabeth Raby buried 12 Sep 1777 Wragby, but I can't find the image on either Lincs to the Past or FMP.
(edit - could be the one baptised 1770 or someone else - there seem to be loads of Rabys there)

From FamilySearch, these are the baptisms:

Wragby:
20 Nov 1755 Ann
6 Oct 1766 Thos
19 Oct 1770 Elizabeth
28 Aug 1773 Frances
30 May 1776 Mary
4 Jan 1779 George

St Swithin, Lincoln:
2 Dec 1760 Edward

There hardly seem to be enough for two couples!

Ah, FamilySearch has an Elizabeth Rawby burial at Wragby, 25 Dec 1759. I don't know why they don't treat Rawby as a variant of Raby; it would make life a lot easier! I can't find a PR image at the moment to see whether there is any more information, but now I think maybe the 1761 marriage is the same Edward as 1755 but for some reason he didn't sign his name that time.

Too many!!

I've got the Elizabeth 1770 married to Henry Chambers at Wragby 11 Feb 1794.

Baptisms from 1794-1807, though the first, Susannah Harwood Chambers, has me stumped with the middle name.

Henry dies in 1808, Elizabeth remarries 15 Jun 1815 to George Knight

No additional info on there beyond name and date, there is also a John Rawby buried earlier in the year, again no additional info and no Wragby baptism in the name 1755-1759. I was hoping he was born and died 1759 and Elizabeth died of complications but it's never that straightforward.
