Bride's surname, please

I have found the marriage of my 8x-great-grandparents on Ancestry:

They are Richard Sturt and Elizabeth. The entry is at the bottom of the right-hand page. Could I please have opinions as to her surname?

Have you tried a search for Elizabeth Sherlock to see if the same image comes up?

Ancestry have transcribed it as Shuelock.

Elizabeth, FMP has it as Richard Stert and Elizabeth Sherlock. I think they've mistranscribed the date here, though. Should be 10 December, I think. Can't be February unless they're backfilling out of order, because they've already recorded May, June and September marriages.

On the same page there's a 1649 burial for a George S?lock son of ? S?lock (transcribed as George Johnson son of Elizabeth Lock) .

The marriage date is 10th February 1651-2 (Julian calendar).

I found the marriage by browsing as I got to a point last night where I couldn't find entries on Ancestry using the search facility. I used Family Search to find what baptisms were available, and as the earliest for this couple was 1652 I found the marriage quite easily.

Janet, for some reason I don't think of FMP for Surrey, I go straight to Ancestry, but for marriages it is good for finding them as the search is easier to use.

Looking at it now it seems to be Sherlock as the letter "r" is typical of the time.

I record dates like this on my tree as 10 Feb 1651/52, as Mary suggests (I have to put in the 5 as my tree program doesn't accept it otherwise).

Thanks for helping - it's good to have a consensus when looking at an unclear name.
